September 6, 2006 – Ceremony for naming of the Mike Geltrude Memorial Soccer Field to be held in Nutley:
The Nutley Board of Commissioners will be renaming the soccer field at Demuro Park in Nutley to the Mike Geltrude Memorial Soccer Field. This ceremony will be taking place at 3 p.m. shortly before the Nutley boy's varsity soccer team takes on the Cedar Grove boy's soccer team in an exhibition game. Members of Mike's family and friends will be on hand to unveil a bronze plaque commemorating Mike's accomplishments as a soccer player and coach, as well as a new sign naming the field. Everyone is encouraged to attend this exciting event which recognizes Mike's efforts as a coach and teacher.
